My practice has stemmed through a personal and societal need for feminism – discussing a variety of issues, ranging from body positivity to sexual abuse and rape. Everyone has their own ways in which the chose to vent and process their feelings and experience, personally doing so through my artwork. Allowing me to transform into who I am today my work is no longer primarily my outlet but instead a societal outlet, exploring what allows us to feel comfortable and safe in everyday life.

I draw comparisons from the physical world and the virtual in attempt to find the middle ground in which we so desperately seek – from who we present ourselves as online to who we are, creating an environment in which we truly feel our authentic selves without fear of safety or judgment.

Bringing my work to life through the use of printmaking, drawing and painting my methods have adapted with my work into the realm of digital art, animation and virtual reality. In my infancy of the journey of virtual reality I aim to create passive worlds which allow the audience to let go and relax in a break from the chaos and uncertainty our world.

My work is focused on finding a safe haven for women, specifically in virtual reality due to the uncertainty, fear and abuse that woman face almost daily. I would like to take a moment for Sarah Everard. And for every woman a part of the 97%.

The loss of Sarah Everard is one we all feel and hits close to home. Doing everything that we are told to do and yet she was a victim. This sense of connection that we feel is rooted in fear.

We all share our live location. We have all held our keys between our fingers. We have all taken the longer more well lit way home. We have all tucked our hair into our coats. we have all thought of an escape route. We all have mad phone calls, real or not.

We know it's not all men, but its enough. We don't get to have the privilege to stop and find out, we have to generalise. If 97% of the population had been hit by a car, wouldn't you be scared?

Women should be able to walk home.

Men, you need to do more. Call out your mates, hold them and yourself accountable. It is simply not enough to be opposed, you have to be actively against otherwise you are part of the problem.
